Earlier today, Big Hit Music took to social media to share an official report in which they announced that Jungkook’s 2023 solo
debut track ‘Seven’ has passed over 2.5billion streams on Spotify and counting.
The feat marks the first time a K-pop song has hit the major milestone – it has even surpassed BTS
’ ‘Dynamite’ to claim the
accolade. Additionally, all of Jungkook’s releases have raked in a whopping cumulative 9.4billion streams, making him the
most-streamed K-pop solo act ever.

‘Seven’, which features rapper Latto, was first released in 2023 as the BTS
member’s first official solo release. The track scored
a four-star review from NME, with Rhian Daly writing: “Arguably one of the BTS
members with the broadest mainstream, commercial
appeal, ‘Seven’ sets the bar pretty high for Jungkook’s solo era. A summer-ready bop that also adds new facets to the singer’s
artistry? We’ll take that any day of the week.”

As for BTS
, the K-pop juggernauts in early July reunited for the first time since 2022, with all seven members having completed
their mandatory military service in South Korea. During a special livestream, the band confirmed rumours that they were preparing
to release new music.
“We’ll be releasing a new BTS
album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely
together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the
album with the same mindset we had when we first started,” BTS
said in a statement.
“We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album,” they added. “We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope
you’re as excited as we are.”
