TXT and ITZY are both prominent 4th generation K-Pop groups. ITZY debuted on February 12, 2019, under JYP Entertainment with single album "It's Different" and title track "Dalla Dalla". They were the fastest girl group at the time to earn their first show win within 8 days.

Meanwhile, TXT debuted on March 4, 2019, under Big Hit Music with the EP The Dream Chapter: Star and title track "Crown", also securing their first music show win just a week after debuting. Both tracks were topping charts, breaking each other's records everyday.
2019 was a year for these monster rookies as TXT and ITZY marked the first time two groups with the same debut year achieved Rookie Grand Slam, making them the fourth and fifth groups to get the said title.
