Kwon Eunbin, a former member of K-pop group CLC and an actress, has announced her retirement from the entertainment industry.
On June 16, the artist shared a statement through her social media accounts revealing that, after years of reflection, she had decided to step away from public life and pursue a future outside the entertainment world.
"I decided to live as an ordinary person," Eunbin wrote, explaining that the decision came after a long period of consideration about her past, present, and future.
The singer and actress expressed gratitude to fans who supported her throughout her career, which began during her teenage years. She first gained public attention as a contestant on Mnet's survival program "Produce 101" in 2016 before debuting as a member of CLC later that year. In the years that followed, she expanded her activities into acting while continuing her entertainment career.
In her statement, Eunbin reflected candidly on the emotional challenges she experienced during her time in the industry. She said that feelings of emptiness and anxiety often outweighed her passion for work and acknowledged that she had spent years avoiding those struggles rather than confronting them directly.
According to Eunbin, her decision was motivated by a desire to focus on a happier and more fulfilling future. She shared that she is currently experiencing one of the happiest periods of her life and plans to move forward away from the public eye.
The artist also stated that she will not be responding to personal inquiries regarding her decision. She added that her remaining scheduled overseas activities with CLC will be completed before officially concluding all entertainment-related work.
Concluding her message, Eunbin thanked fans for their support over the years and wished them happiness in the future.
