Young Posse’s Lyrics Spark Outrage Over Inappropriate Content Involving Minors: “Take Off Your Underwear?”

K-pop girl group Young Posse has once again landed in hot water—this time over controversial lyrics from their track “ soju ” off the album Growing Pain pt.1 : Free. Netizens and fans alike have expressed outrage over the song’s suggestive lines, especially given that two of the group’s members are minors.

The line causing the most backlash is “Take off your underwear,” which critics argue is grossly inappropriate for a group whose youngest members, Doeun (17) and Jieun (15), are still underage.

The issue gained momentum after popular X (formerly Twitter) account @nugupromoter highlighted the lyrics, prompting widespread criticism and reigniting concerns about the group’s mature concept since their debut. One user commented:

“This is beyond concept—this is just wrong. You can’t have 15-year-olds associated with this kind of content.”

While some fans attempted to defend the group, claiming the lyrics were written and performed by the adult members, their defense has done little to quell the backlash. Critics argue that regardless of who sings the lines, the company and production team are ultimately responsible for the group’s content and image.

“It doesn’t matter who wrote it. If you want to do adult-themed music, don’t debut minors,” another user responded.
