Under GBK Entertainment, MEPC debuted in late 2025 with First Fragment, beginning a musical journey that has since expanded into a larger fictional universe built around storytelling, performance and science-fiction-inspired visuals.

But behind the futuristic concepts and carefully constructed performances, MEPC's story is ultimately about something much more personal: learning how seven people with very different backgrounds can become one team without losing what makes each of them unique.

Seven members, different cultures, one team

For MEPC, diversity isn't a marketing tactic. It's their main artistic force. Bringing together varied backgrounds directly feeds into their music and daily team chemistry. While navigating different cultures naturally brought early challenges, it ultimately became their greatest strength.

"Diversity is what makes us special," the group shared. "We had our share of ups and downs because of our differences, but as time went on, we learned to turn those differences into synergy."

This blend allows each member to bring her own cultural heritage to the table, paving the way for creative "mix and match" concepts that could seamlessly weave Bollywood beats, Tunisian motifs, or Nepalese artistic touches into future K-pop tracks. This multicultural foundation also creates an immediate bond with fans around the globe, with Hara noting that their varied backgrounds help them connect with international audiences on a far more personal level.

Finding their identity

Defining MEPC in a single sentence is not necessarily easy, and that may be part of the point.

The members explained that each of them has her own personality, appearance, strengths and “color.” While they share a broader concept and a common K-pop foundation, they do not necessarily approach that identity in exactly the same way.

Speaking on how they define their collective identity, Zaylie summed up the group's essence in a single word: "Unique."

Solmi expanded on this, describing MEPC as a global K-pop girl group that invites listeners into an immersive universe. A space where fans can express themselves freely through the music. When it comes to their core identity, the group defines their sound as powerful and their visuals as distinctly diverse. Yet for MEPC, these visuals run deeper than mere aesthetics: their rich cultural heritage is something they actively aim to integrate even further as their artistic journey unfolds.

They imagine a future in which audiences can recognize individual cultural influences within MEPC while still seeing the group as one cohesive act.

Inside MEPC's science-fiction universe

Beyond catchy music and polished visuals, MEPC’s universe is grounded in immersive sci-fi storytelling. Each release assigns specific characters and roles to the seven members. Before stepping into the studio, the creative team walks them through the backstory of their concept, allowing the members to internalize their characters and deliver more evocative, narrative-driven performances.

Before stepping onto the stage, they want to understand what their character is feeling, what the song is trying to communicate and why certain movements appear in the choreography. For them, choreography is not simply a sequence of movements that needs to be memorized. Every movement has to contribute to the emotion of the story.

That is particularly important when each member is portraying a different character with her own abilities or powers. In their PROTECTORS comeback, the members described having different powers and roles to understand and embody as part of the concept.

"The lyrics themselves are an important part of that immersion," they explained. "Repeatedly read and study them until the meaning becomes something I can genuinely connect with. Only then do I feel able to communicate that emotion to the audience."

The members acknowledged that even though they listen to the same song, they can interpret its lyrics and story differently based on their own experiences and personalities. Rather than seeing that as a problem, they see it as something that can also happen with their audience.

For MEPC, a lyric is never one-dimensional. It transforms depending on who is listening. Instead of defining a single path through their universe, the group provides the framework and narrative spark, inviting fans to bring their own stories, emotions, and imagination into the fold.

“When people listen to our songs, we really want them to know that they don't have to be perfect to keep moving forward” mentioned Ann. “We all go through moments of uncertainty and struggle, so we hope our music gives them strength and makes them feel like they're not alone.”

That message can appear in different forms depending on the song. Some tracks are intended to motivate listeners; others can give them confidence or simply provide a moment to enjoy themselves.

But the ultimate goal is emotional connection.

For someone going through a difficult moment, they hope the group's music can provide comfort. They want their songs to become a small source of support, even if a listener spends only a few minutes with them. They want listeners experiencing uncertainty or feeling lost to know that they are not alone.

That also explains why their connection with fans goes beyond simply releasing music.

MEPC is developing ways for listeners to participate more directly in their universe through their website and social media, creating experiences that can bring fans closer to the group's storytelling rather than keeping them only as spectators.

The next chapter: bolder and more versatile

Looking ahead, the group is clear about the musical paths they want to explore to showcase their versatility—ranging from darker, bolder, and more mature concepts to diving deep into R&B, traditional pop, nostalgic early-generation K-pop styles, and—much to the delight of Spanish-speaking listeners—elements of Latin music and language.

"Spanish is such a beautiful language, and it expresses emotions so well. We would love to dive deeper into Latin rhythms and combine Spanish with Korean," Solmi shared with laughter and enthusiasm, leaving fans eager for what could be an unexpected intercultural fusion. Furthermore, they teased that while their short-term focus includes several domestic events in Korea throughout October, they are already working on plans to meet their international fans face-to-face.

The fans who were there before debut

For MEPC, the relationship with its fans began long before the official debut. The members repeatedly expressed gratitude toward people who supported them during their pre-debut journey, including those who participated in voting and encouraged them before they had officially established themselves as artists.

Some fans have therefore been able to witness the group's entire transformation — from trainees and aspiring performers to a working K-pop group developing its own music and universe.

The members do not take that history for granted.

"Our hope is to continue meeting the expectations of those who have been with us on this journey, while welcoming new listeners as they step into our universe for the first time," Miho shared.

While their multicultural identity naturally turns heads, MEPC insists it shouldn't be the sole reason to tune in. They want listeners to stay for their music and artistry. In doing so, they hope to embody a new era of K-pop—one defined by diverse concepts, evolving sounds, and narratives that truly represent a global audience.

“We want to be a reflection of what you want to see in the K-pop industry,” Anika explained.

“Welcome to our universe”

At the heart of MEPC’s journey lies a single, defining thread: connection. It is the bridge between distant cultures, distinct personalities, reality and fantasy, and ultimately, the group and their global community.

Seven artists from across the globe are learning to support one another, grow together, and shape a collective identity that honors every member's voice. While their differences initially presented challenges, they have transformed into their greatest creative engine. As they continue to push boundaries and blend genres, MEPC isn't trying to fit into an existing mold—they are carving out a universe entirely their own.

To those who have supported them from the beginning, the members extend deep gratitude. To those discovering them now, they offer an open invitation: step in, listen, and find your own story within their music.

As one member warmly expressed when welcoming new listeners: "Welcome to our universe, and let's go together."

With undeniable talent, incredible vocal and dance versatility, and a sound that bridges cultures, MEPC is a group you won't want to look away from. Dive into their discography today, hit follow on their official channels to stay updated on upcoming releases and domestic appearances, and join them as they continue to reshape the global K-pop landscape.
