The rapper and singer, real name Lalisa Manobal, made her acting debut in season three of HBO’s The White Lotus last year, and she’s set to team up with the series’ executive producer David Bernad again.
While most of the info is under wraps at this stage, sources have said (via Deadline) that Bernad and Lisa came up with the premise on the set of The White Lotus after bonding over their shared love for the 1999 rom-com classic Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.
They then brought screenwriter Katie Silberman (Set It Up, Booksmart, Don’t Worry Darling) on board to write the script. Bernad is set to produce the movie through Middle Child Productions, alongside Silberman, while Lisa and Alice Kang – who worked with Lisa on her 2025 single and video ‘Born Again’ – will serve as executive producers.

Lisa’s first major movie role, however, will be in Tygo. A spin-off in Netflix’s Extraction franchise, it follows a former child-soldier turned mercenary who goes on a revenge mission through Korea’s criminal underworld and also stars Don Lee and Lee Jin-wook.
NME, meanwhile, ranked season three of The White Lotus, set in Lisa’s native Thailand, as one of the best TV shows of 2025, writing: “It’s an ingenious idea, isn’t it? With its emphasis on the titular, lavish hotel chain, Mike White’s deliciously twisted drama can introduce a new location and a fresh cast of spoiled, narcissistic wretches with each series.
“This time we’re in Thailand, with a violent cold open before the action spins back to reveal how we got there … Detractors might have moaned that the series was slower than its predecessors, but that languid pace just ratcheted up the tension as we crawled – like a doomed superyacht – towards the bloody denouement.”
Last year, meanwhile, Lisa released her debut solo album ‘Alter Ego‘. It reached Number 20 in the UK and Number Seven in the US, and it received a three-star review from NME.
“‘Alter Ego’ may not fully answer the question of who Lisa is as a solo artist, but it’s an ambitious first step toward finding out,” the review read. “The album is eclectic, unapologetic and, at times, a little lost in its own spectacle. If ‘Alter Ego’ is about trying on different personas, perhaps the real Lisa is still emerging. And when she finds her footing, she’ll be unstoppable.”
Lisa also made her Coachella debut last year, and became the first K-pop singer to perform at the Academy Awards. A documentary film about her, titled Lisa, is currently in post-production, though no release date has been announced.
