BTS Delivers Explosive “Dynamite” Performance at World Cup Final

Known for their powerful performances, me took to the stage–or rather, to the field–on Sunday, July 19th for the first ever World Cup halftime show at MetLife Stadium. The 7-member supergroup, made up of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, was part of a star-studded lineup including other musical icons including Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber. They stepped out mere hours after a sold-out stadium show in Paris, jetting across the world to show audiences a brilliant rendition of their 2020 megahit “Dynamite” in front of over 80,000 spectators. 

They appeared in chic black, red, and white outfits, making the most of the allotted time for each performing artist, which was just under two minutes. In 2022, youngest member Jungkook headlined the World Cup opening ceremony in Qatar with the song “Dreamers”, becoming the first Asian act in history to perform the World Cup anthem. The event was shortly after the announcement of the group’s impending military service, which stopped them from appearing as a complete unit. The return of the entire group for their “Dynamite” moment this Sunday, nearly four years later, feels like a full-circle moment for the group and their fans. They made history on the pitch, and this performance is another notch in the belt for these global superstars.
