The official date for his solo debut was announced via Hangyul’s various social media accounts, including X and Instagram, on September 9, 2026. After signing with Orca Music, Hangyul’s official social media accounts were opened, marking the beginning of his official journey as a solo artist.
On September 10, the official promotional schedule for NOISE was posted to Hangyul’s social media accounts. The schedule includes the release of a mood spoiler, track list, concept photos, a highlight medley, a music video teaser, and the official music video and mini-album.
An official showcase titled LEE HANGYUL: UNDEFINED, will also be held the same day of the release of NOISE on October 14 at 8 p.m. KST.
NOISE will have two physical versions of the album, MAX and MUTE, and fans can pre-order them from various Korean album store websites including KTown4U, Yes24, Apple Music, and Aladin.
Lee Hangyul made his debut as a member of the group IM on September 1, 2017. He later competed on KBS2’ idol rebooting project show, The Unit, where he placed 13th. In 2019, he participated in MNET’s boy group survival show, Produce X 101, where he placed 7th, and became a member of X1, who debuted in August 2019.
Following X1’s disbandment in 2020, Hangyul debuted in the duo H&D alongside former labelmate Nam Dohyon. The two went on later to become members of BAE173, who officially debuted on November 19, 2020.
On September 29, 2024, it was announced that Hangyul would be competing on the Chinese-South Korean survival show, Starlight Boys, where he placed 6th and debuted as a member of Polarix.
After 10 years of being under Pocketdol Studio, on February 28, 2026, the company announced that Hangyul would be leaving the company after deciding not to renew his contract. It was also announced that he would be concluding his activities as a member of BAE173.

On Hangyul’s official community on MNET Plus Chat, which opened on August 23, he officially greeted fans with a post where he mentioned the new sides of himself he’s excited to show and thanked all of the fans who have supported him through everything. He also shared his excitement for this new chapter in his career and expressed his hope that everyone else is excited for it too.
NOISE will officially be released on October 14, 2026 at 6 p.m. KST on various streaming services.
