San Antonio’s KPOPWORLD Festival Postponed Due To Visa Uncertainties

What was on track to be San Antonio’s largest K-pop event in history has now been postponed by its organizers.

KPOPWORLD posted an official statement to its social media channels on Sept. 18 announcing the postponement of its inaugural festival to 2027. The media company was uncertain whether visas for its international artists would be granted in time, which led to this decision.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this change may cause you,” its team said.

Marketed as “the biggest K-pop & K-Hip Hop festival in Texas,” the four-day event was set to take place this Halloween weekend at San Antonio’s historic Alamodome.

As part of the festival, KPOPWORLD had planned a world dance competition, meet-and-greets, a vendor village, and various live performances. They teased names like Jay Park, The Rose, Jessi, and DAYOUNG as part of the lineup. Now, fans will have to wait until next year to see what the festival will offer.

As a courtesy, the KPOPWORLD Festival team said it will give original ticket holders “an exclusive pre-sale code” they can use for the festival’s new dates.

Ticketmaster will also be issuing refunds for the postponed event. Original ticket holders can expect to receive theirs within 14 business days, and it will be returned to the payment method used when purchasing.
