It's official: Following the success of his "Ephemeral Gaze" tour in 2024 and 2025, the 33-year-old "King of K-pop" is set to make his way around the globe again. On July 23rd, Taemin's official X account teased the poster for a new world tour titled "LIMINAL." Just a few days later, the official tour stops were announced. Taemin will be coming to cities across Asia, North America, and Latin America, with more locations to be revealed at a later time.
Although the exact dates for each tour stop have yet to be announced, some major cities on Taemin's tour roster include Seoul, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Mexico City. So far, no European dates have been included in the lineup. However, Taemin's first solo tour made stops in London, Paris, and Brussels, among others. Fans are expecting a European leg of the tour to be announced in the coming months.
Taemin debuted in May of 2008 as a member of SHINee at just 14 years old under SM Entertainment. In 2014, he released his first solo album ACE, and in the years since, much of his solo work has become iconic amongst the K-pop industry, even earning him the nickname "Idol of Idols" , as countless new generation musicians named Taemin as one of their primary musical inspirations. His distinct, conceptual music and powerful performance abilities put him on the map as one of the greats. He is known for songs like the 2017 hit "Move", "Criminal", "Advice", and the 2023 sensation "Guilty," which went viral on social media platforms and amongst other idol performers for its intense choreography.
The announcement of the "LIMINAL" tour seems to be a natural continuation of the massive buzz that continues to surround this longtime K-pop icon. Taemin debuted several never-before-heard songs at his historic Coachella set in April of this year, and his latest release "PERMISSION", which dropped shortly after in May, sets the tone for his upcoming album. Titled PHASE 1: Soft Violence, it is set to release on August 31st under Taemin's new label, Galaxy Corp. "LIMINAL" will mark his first time touring under the company.
