Finally, Yoon Ha Na (Kim Ji Yeon) and Yoon Ha Ru (Jang Se Hyuk) have succeeded in saving Jung Woo Jae (Park Seo Ham), giving him the chance to build a successful acting career where he is protected rather than spending his life protecting others. But at what cost?
As episodes 7 and 8 of “Dive into You” unfold, the twins’ efforts to change the future bring new mysteries, emotional revelations, and heartbreaking consequences. Here are two times the latest episodes of “Dive into You” gave us a heart attack and two times they broke our hearts.
Warning: spoilers ahead!
Heart attack: Man-in-black drops the camera
The previous episode ended with a man dressed in black, whom the audience assumed to be Lee Hyeong Won (Kim Han Yeong), stealing the leads’ camcorder and throwing it to the ground in front of Jung Woo Jae and Yoon Ha Na. Although episode 7 begins a few hours before that scene takes place, the events leading up to it only heighten the anticipation.
The scene unfolds after Yoon Ha Na and Jung Woo Jae have spent several hours filming their student film. As the couple is filming the final kiss scene, it begins to rain, forcing the crew members to disperse. The two are sitting on a bench when Yoon Ha Na spots the man in black holding her camcorder.
Realizing what might be coming, Yoon Ha Na hurriedly tells Jung Woo Jae that, in the future, he should focus on protecting himself. Then comes the moment that gives everyone a heart attack: the man finally lets go of the camcorder, and it falls to the ground. Both she and the audience expect the drop to trigger another jump to the future. However, that does not happen, and Yoon Ha Na remains in 2013.
This leaves viewers wondering whether the time jump only occurs when one of the twins drops the camera, whether the camcorder thrown to the ground was actually Yoon Ha Na’s, or whether it was merely a replica intended to threaten her. Since we already know the last possibility is the truth, the sequence becomes even more thrilling. Someone has discovered the Yoon twins’ secret, and whoever this mysterious figure is clearly holds a grudge against Jung Woo Jae.
Heartbreak: Yoon Ha Na tells Jung Woo Jae to stop making her feel guilty
One of the most iconic tropes in romantic comedies is the hero swooping in to save the heroine in a swoon-worthy moment, leaving both the audience and the heroine in awe. In these latest episodes, Jung Woo Jae gets his chance to play the hero by saving Yoon Ha Na. The problem, however, is that the audience and the Yoon twins are constantly on edge, knowing that Jung Woo Jae’s safety is at risk. As a result, Yoon Ha Na’s growing anxiety over his well-being ends up breaking both the audience’s and Jung Woo Jae’s hearts.
After the entire ordeal involving the man in black and the camcorder, the pair returns to filming another scene that night. This time, some filming equipment is about to fall on Yoon Ha Na. Before it can hit her, Jung Woo Jae rushes in and saves the day. Yoon Ha Na looks distraught, but her pent-up emotions finally spill over when Jung Woo Jae jokes that he must have looked just like the male lead from their student film. She tells him that his constant efforts to protect her make her feel guilty, as though all she ever brings into his life is misery.
The audience knows that Yoon Ha Na is not simply talking about Jung Woo Jae saving her from the falling equipment. She is also thinking about how he sacrificed his life to save her in 2026. Jung Woo Jae, however, knows nothing about that future, making the entire scene incredibly painful to watch. From his perspective, the woman he loves is telling him that his acts of love have become a burden to her.
Thankfully, this incident does not lead to their breakup. Had it done so, Yoon Ha Na might never have been able to forgive herself. Instead, shortly after their quarrel, Lee Hyeong Won appears with the actual camcorder and accidentally drops it, sending the Yoon twins back to the future. Yoon Ha Na’s original 2013 consciousness returns to her body, and the conflict between her and Jung Woo Jae is resolved.
Heartbreak: Yoon Ha Na’s career trajectory changes
One thing “Dive into You” has consistently emphasized is not only Yoon Ha Na’s acting ability but also her passion for her craft. After years of honing her skills, she enrolls in a university acting program and continues pursuing her dream of becoming an actress. That is why, much like Yoon Ha Ru’s lost opportunity to become a professional judo player, Yoon Ha Na’s current career trajectory is so heartbreaking to watch. Although she is still an actress, she is nowhere near as successful as she was in the original timeline.
Beyond the sadness, however, this change raises an important question: What exactly caused Yoon Ha Na’s career to take such a different turn? Just as in the original timeline, she acted in the student film, so why did she fail to achieve the same level of breakthrough success?
Could it be that, in the original timeline, her male co-star was less talented than Jung Woo Jae, allowing her acting skills to stand out more? In the current timeline, did Jung Woo Jae’s natural talent somehow overshadow her performance on screen? But how would that even make sense? A film featuring two exceptionally talented actors might be more likely to succeed, bringing greater recognition to both of them. Or is there another factor at play that the audience has yet to discover?
Heartbreak: a love that could have been
This is one heartbreak the audience could see coming from a mile away.
At the beginning of episode 7, it becomes clear that Jung Woo Jae and Yoon Ha Na have been together for a long time. Initially, it seems possible that their argument after Jung Woo Jae saves Yoon Ha Na in 2013 might have marked the end of their relationship. However, the truth turns out to be far more heartbreaking.
The couple does not break up in 2013. Instead, they maintain a healthy relationship until their student film brings them both widespread recognition. During a solo interview, Jung Woo Jae is asked whether he has a girlfriend, and he openly admits that he does. Meanwhile, at the same time, Yoon Ha Na attends a press conference for her upcoming movie, where she is asked whether she is the woman rumored to be dating Jung Woo Jae. Trying to avoid disrupting the press conference in front of her senior colleagues, she denies the rumor.
Even then, the couple does not break up immediately. However, the incident might have become a pivotal moment in their relationship, hinting at the problems that eventually drive them apart.
Although the audience has yet to learn exactly when or why Jung Woo Jae and Yoon Ha Na broke up, their separation appears to be closely tied to their careers. This makes their situation all the more ironic. Yoon Ha Na wanted Jung Woo Jae to become an actor so he could live a happy life. Yet, in helping him achieve that dream, she may have lost the love of her life, leaving him to live with the pain of their separation.
And the fact that Jung Woo Jae and Yoon Ha Na still carry their couple’s keychains more than a decade later only makes the heartbreak worse. Despite everything that has happened, a small reminder of their relationship remains with them.

Mo (Kang Hyung Suk) now emerging as a possible suspect behind the theft of the camcorder, “Dive into You” has opened up an entirely new mystery. Was he also responsible for the attack that led to Jung Woo Jae’s death in the original timeline, or has changing the past altered the identity of the culprit?
