Members Oh Hanbin, Ahn Hyeongseop, Choi Byeongseop (Eunchan), and Kim Taerae will continue to receive “full support” from the company, so “they can present new aspects of themselves through their individual activities.” YH Entertainment also asked fans to continue to show interest in and support for each member and their respective journeys.
“Additionally, member HYUK (Koo Bonhyuk) is scheduled to enlist in the military on October 26 to fulfill his mandatory service.,” the statement said. “There will be no separate official event on the day of his enlistment. As the site will be shared with other enlistees and their families, we respectfully request that fans refrain from visiting the location. We ask for your warm encouragement so that HYUK can safely and healthily complete his military service and return.”
As for the group’s leader, LEW (Lee Euiwoong), he will part ways with YH Entertainment, his contract set to end on Nov. 1.
“We sincerely thank LEW for his time with us, and kindly ask for your generous love and warm support for his future endeavors,” YH Entertainment said.
With the release of their first mini album, It’s ME, It’s WE, TEMPEST debuted as a seven-member boy group on March 2, 2022. However, the group was later promoted as six members after Hwarang’s (Song Jaewon/KiDo) contract termination in August 2024.
Over its career, TEMPEST released seven Korean mini albums, two Japanese mini albums, and one Korean single album. They collected several awards along the way, including Best Male Rookie at the 2022 Genie Music Awards, and went on tour the past three years. The group also competed on the Mnet reality/survival show Road to Kingdom: Ace of Ace where they finished 6th.
